Why did Jesus cause those who see to become blind?
So that they could truly follow him, without distraction, without hesitation. To see in the world is to be blind to the ways of God, to admit your blindness is to beckon the Lords leadership.

Why did Jesus cause those who see to become blind?
Jesus caused those who claimed to see to become blind because they CHOSE not to believe He was the Son of God even though they were aware of the miracles He wrought and the wisdom of His teachings and yet, they refused to believe. They would live in darkness instead of in His eternal light.

Jesus said to him, "You have both seen him, and it is he who speaks with you."
He said, "Lord, I believe!" and he worshiped him.
Jesus said, "I came into this world for judgment, that those who don't see may see; and that those who see may become blind."
Those of the Pharisees who were with him heard these things, and said to him, "Are we also blind?"
Jesus said to them, "If you were blind, you would have no sin; but now you say, 'We see.' Therefore your sin remains.
